SLEEP 2020 Annual Meeting is Going Virtual in August

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Associated Professional Sleep Societies (APSS) is postponing SLEEP 2020 until Aug. 27 – 30, when it will be held as a virtual meeting. While the APSS had hoped to see you in Philadelphia in June, we are excited about the opportunity to offer a new, online experience for SLEEP 2020 participants.

APSS is bringing SLEEP to you!

The APSS is now accelerating transition plans to make SLEEP 2020, the 34th annual meeting of the APSS, a premier virtual event. We will provide the same, high quality content from leading clinicians and scientists in the fields of sleep medicine and sleep and circadian research, but now it will be more accessible than ever before. Wherever you are in the world, you will be able to attend SLEEP from the comfort of your home or office while enjoying unprecedented access to both live and on-demand content.

Registration and exhibitor/sponsorship information about the first online SLEEP annual meeting will be coming soon. The APSS also will be sending additional information within the next week to speakers and abstract presenters. In the meantime, please mark your calendars now for Aug. 27 – 30!

APSS thanks you

The APSS thanks you for your patience as we have had to navigate a variety of logistical challenges presented by COVID-19. The SLEEP annual meeting, which is a joint initiative of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and the Sleep Research Society (SRS), is made possible by the involvement and participation of our attendees, presenters, exhibitors, and sponsors. The APSS is thankful for this loyal and enduring support. We are grateful for you, and we remain committed to delivering a SLEEP meeting that exceeds your expectations.

Current registrants should complete the brief form (linked below) before June 12, indicating your preference to convert to registration for the virtual SLEEP meeting or receive a refund. (Pricing for a virtual SLEEP meeting has not yet been determined.) You will receive an email within 7 business days confirming your selection.

Abstract Presenters

All abstracts accepted for SLEEP 2020 will still be published in the journal SLEEP as an online abstract supplement. Poster presenters should plan to create a PDF poster in anticipation that there will be a virtual poster hall during the online SLEEP meeting.

The APSS has not yet determined which sessions would be included on the program for the virtual SLEEP meeting. In the near future, APSS will be sending out more detailed communications to speakers regarding their sessions.

Exhibitors & Sponsors

The APSS is planning new exhibiting and sponsorship opportunities for the virtual SLEEP meeting. While more details will be provided in the coming weeks, you can contact [email protected] with immediate questions.

Hotel Reservations

The APSS is working with Orchid Events to cancel all hotel reservations booked through the SLEEP 2020 Housing Bureau. It is not necessary to e-mail Orchid about your cancellation; no action is required on your part. You will receive notification in the coming days about the cancellation of your hotel reservation.
